The mail order purchaser should also purchase separately a length, or several lengths, of threaded rod (see about threaded rod) to suit his individual work circumstances.

Fit the fixed faceplate and clamp body onto the threaded rod as illustrated in the product information booklet.

The yellow coupling nut supplied will allow joining of additional lengths of rod, and if not be used for this purpose should be screwed onto the rod end protruding through the clamp body, as a safety measure.

The exposed end of a short threaded rod is a sharp workplace safety hazard, and should be covered with a coupling nut at all times during use.
